Garrahan Hospital Workers Achieve 61% Salary Increase

Workers at Garrahan Hospital, united in the Association of Professionals and Technicians (APyT), commented on the 61% salary increase announced by the institution's management, stating that it is the result of having 'won a national cause.' In a statement, APyT's general secretary and pediatric nutritionist, Norma Lezana, stated that this adjustment is 'recognition of a true social movement' that defended both the institution and the children treated there. 'We hope that it is fulfilled in all its terms. We are happy with what we achieved with a huge struggle,' she said. She also recalled that during President Javier Milei's nearly two years in office, there were 'disinformation campaigns, fake news, and intimidation attempts' that managed to 'defeat' and even went against the 'insensitivity' shown by many officials. To conclude, she emphasized that 'justice is finally materializing' due to the collective effort achieved, and now it remains to 'wait for it to be implemented' what was announced by the hospital's management.
